James R. Brown

James "Jim" R. Brown, 71, Johnstown PA, passed away  April 17, 2017 in Mooresville, NC. Born on July 28th, 1945 in Johnstown, PA son of the late James "Jim" and Penelope (Lawhead) Brown.Preceded in death by wife, Karen A. (Gillin) Eckenrode Brown; granddaughter, Christian RaNell Fenchak; and sister, Rita Ann Brown. Survived by children, Jodi (Brown) Treese, married to Sherratt of Huntersville, NC;  Jamie R. Brown married to Stephanie, of Conover, NC;  Dana Cooper married to Tonya, of Martinsburg, WV;  RaNell Fenchak, married to Michael, Vinco;  Deanna Unger, Ebensburg; Garth Eckenrode, Vinco; Shannan Eckenrode, Hollidaysburg; grandchildren Kayla Fenchak, Arron Fenchak, Heather Luschkowski, Brent Luschkowski, Tucker Eckenrode, Isaiah Brown, Hailie Brown, Penelople Treese, and Cobi Cooper; and great-grand daughter, Addilyn. Also survived by many friends who became his family at VFW Post 155. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and he served his country with pride.  Member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 354.  Previously employed at DRS Technologies. Former police officer at Stoney Creek Township.  Retired instructor at Johnstown Regional Police Academy. Jim enjoyed practicing his marksmanship skills and sharing his knowledge with cadets, friends, and family.  Family and friends will be received Friday, August 25, 2017 from  5 until 7pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave, where military rite will be conducted at 6:30pm by Chas. Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
