Frank R McCleester

McCLEESTER- Frank R., 71, Johnstown. Passed away February 11, 2018. Born May 21, 1946 in Windber. Son of the late Raymond E. and Eva (Paholko) McCleester. Survived by wife of 46 years, Joyce (Opdenhoff); children Frank Jr. and his partner Peaches Baker of Butler, and Melody married to William Bearer of New Germany; grandchildren Shianne Baker, Harmony McCleester, Christian and Connor Bearer; brother William married to Dawn; and nieces and nephews. Member of Grace Assembly of God Church for 55 years, where he was on the board for 45 years, and served as this area’s Sectional Commander of Royal Rangers for many years. Frank graduated in 1964 from Richland High School and in 1968 from Evangel University. Retired in 2011 from Ferndale Area High School as a music teacher. He loved music and playing his trumpet in many of our area’s community and civic bands, gardening and cutting grass with his tractor. However, his true love was his family and the time they spent together. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at John Henderson Co.
