Donna R. (Haigh) Oaks

Oaks, Donna R., "Big Mama", 73, Johnstown, was reunited with her beloved "Daddio" and pets, on October 24, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 12, 1944 in Johnstown, daughter of Carl C. and Helene M. (Schnurr) Haigh. Preceded in death by her parents, husband John S. Oaks and infant brother, Carl James.  Survived by daughters, Jennifer Oaks and Rebecca married to Allen Edmiston; sister-in-law, Madeleine Oaks. Member of First Lutheran Church. Also, a member of Phi Beta Kapa. She was an avid reader, animal lover and bird watcher. She enjoyed Jeopardy, crossword puzzles and classical music and musicals. Donna was a very smart woman and prided herself on her education as well as her childrens education. She was a lab tech at Memorial Medical Center since the early 80's. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, Pastor Walter Startzel. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum. The family suggests donations be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
