Wilson, Donald C.,72, Johnstown, passed away February 25, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 29, 1946 in Johnstown son of Charles E. and Leora E. (Lamison) Wilson. Preceded in death by parents; father in law, Carl Hody Sr.; sister in law, Susan Hody; brother in law, Carl Hody Jr. Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Betty J. (Hody) Wilson; children, Tabitha married to Joe Gallo and Ryan; brother, Kerry Wilson; nieces, Stacy married to Joe Sheridan, Tia, which he shared a birthday with, married to Brett Zdunczyk; great niece, Raime; great nephew, Deegan; mother in law, Betty (Dietrich) Hody, also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Graduate of Richland High School in 1963. He was in the 1st Army Band as a percussionist. In 1964, he was among a cordon of drummers who escorted the body of General Douglas MacArthur to his burial in Norfolk, VA. He studied music education at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he was in the symphony orchestra. He taught percussion at University of Music and played in several local bands. He was the president and owner of Benshoff Printing Company. Avid Steelers fan and loved jazz music. U.S. Army Veteran. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received Thursday from 3-7 pm at JOHN HENDERSON CO. FUNERAL HOME, 215 Central Ave., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00, Pastor Toby Holland officiating, Joyce Plaza, organist. Interment Richland Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Chas Menoher Post #155.
