Barbara Jean (Ober) Yernaux Horne, 81, Johnstown, passed away peacefully with her children by her side, on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Laurel Wood Care Center. She was born April 4, 1936, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Frank L. and Helen (Eppley) Ober. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Darren Yernaux; brother, Larry Wayne Ober; and sister, Carol Elaine Sanders. Barb is survived by a daughter, Lisa Forgie, and husband, Greg, Mechanicsburg; son, Joseph Yernaux, and wife, Vicki, Johnstown; grandchildren, Derek and Ashley Yernaux, Johnstown; and Miranda Brindza, Philadelphia; sisters, Wanda Maldet, and husband, William, Johnstown; Vivian Karcher, Severna Park, MD; and brothers, Frank L. Ober, Jr., and wife, Mary Theresa, Everett; and Bryan, Johnstown. Barb retired from AAA, Johnstown, but most of her career exceled at being the friendliest grocery store cashier in Johnstown at A&P and Thorofare Markets. In recent years, she enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and sister. The family would like to thank the staff at Laurel Wood for the compassionate care she received during her stay. Friends will be received on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m. at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., the Rev. Keith Dunn, officiating.
